Opportunity Overview
We are seeking an experienced Cardiovascular Surgery Physician Assistant for a high-acuity locum tenens assignment in the greater Los Angeles area. This opportunity offers a mix of inpatient care, surgical first assist responsibilities, clinic coverage, and call coverage with the potential for ongoing assignments through 2027.

Job Responsibilities
Post-operative inpatient rounding
Outpatient clinic visits
Management of cardiovascular surgery patients
Interpretation of:
EKGs
X-rays
Laboratory results
Participation in advanced cardiovascular support procedures
Qualifications
Board Certified
Active DEA Registration
Active ACLS Certification
Active BLS Certification
Cardiovascular/Cardiothoracic Surgery experience required
Working Hours
7:30 AM - 6:00 PM
30-minute unpaid lunch
Guaranteed 8 hours per day
Call Coverage
Weeknight Beeper Call: 6:00 PM - 7:30 AM
Weekend 24-hour Beeper Call
Response Time: 20-30 minutes
Skills
Candidates should be comfortable with:
Endoscopic vein harvesting
Radial artery harvesting
ECMO management
Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump (IABP)
Impella device management
Cardiothoracic surgical first assist duties
