Greensboro, NC | Cardiothoracic Surgery PA Locum Assignment
Start Date: November 16, 2026
Assignment Length: 16 Weeks
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:00 PM + Call
Setting: Inpatient | Adult
EMR: Epic – experience required
Call Requirements:
Minimum 1 weekend per month
Weeknight call: 5:00 PM–7:00 AM
Weekend call: Friday 7:00 PM–Monday 7:00 AM
Weekend rounding on step-down units with surgeons, typically half-day or less, followed by pager coverage
OR floor call coverage at a 1:4 ratio
Position Details:
Advanced Heart Failure/Cardiothoracic Surgery
Support includes dedicated office PA + 2 RNs
Inpatient volume: Approximately 15–25 patients
Approximately 5–8 CABG cases per week
4–6 robotic thoracic/chest cases
Open and TAVR valve cases
Occasional LVAD and Impella placements
Endoscopic vein harvesting required
First assist experience required
Requirements:
Board Certified in Cardiothoracic Surgery
Active North Carolina license required at time of presentation – client will not license
Master’s Degree in Physician Assistant Studies
Active DEA
Minimum 2 years of experience
Endoscopic vein harvesting experience
Required vaccinations
Credentialing: Approximately 60–90 days
