Springfield Regional Medical Center — a Bon Secours Mercy Health facility — is seeking an experienced Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery Physician Assistant for locum coverage beginning September 8, 2026.

Temp privileges are available in approximately one week for a PA with a clean file who submits quickly. You do not have to wait 90 days to start.

Job Responsibilities

Post-op care for all CT and vascular surgical patients. Emergency surgery coverage for CT/vascular patients. Consults from ED, Cath Lab, and all hospital providers. Vein harvesting required. Vascular tissue retrieval for bypass conduit. Rounding, prescription writing, test ordering and interpretation, care coordination. Possible supervision of learners.

Qualifications

Level II trauma center. Epic. Full travel reimbursement including airfare, lodging, rental car, and mileage.

Working Hours

Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm plus floor call/beeper coverage 3pm to 7am. Saturday and Sunday are 24-hour onsite with floor call and OR call. Average weekend callback is approximately 10 hours. 1 to 2 weeks per month, ongoing through 2027.

Skills

- Physician Assistant with Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery experience
- Vein harvesting experience required — non-negotiable
- Ohio license or active IMLC. No Ohio license? IMLC accepted and we will license you.
- Clean background required for temp privileges
- Standard credentialing 90-120 days, temp privileges approximately 1 week for clean file
