We are seeking a Board-Certified Physician Assistant for a locum opportunity specializing in Cardiothoracic Surgery and Cardiovascular Care in Monroeville, Pennsylvania. This position combines both inpatient surgical care and outpatient clinic responsibilities, offering the opportunity to work alongside an experienced cardiovascular surgical team. The provider will assist in the management of cardiovascular and cardiothoracic surgery patients throughout the continuum of care.
Job Responsibilities
• Provide inpatient care, including patient assessments, daily rounds, consultations, and post-operative management.
• Participate in cardiovascular and cardiothoracic surgical procedures as assigned.
• Evaluate and manage patients in the outpatient clinic one day per week.
• Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with the surgical team.
• Order, interpret, and document diagnostic tests and clinical findings.
• Maintain accurate medical documentation and ensure continuity of patient care.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and multidisciplinary healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality patient care.
Qualifications
• Active Pennsylvania Physician Assistant License required.
• Active DEA Registration required.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• Experience in Cardiovascular Surgery and/or Cardiothoracic Surgery strongly preferred.
• Excellent clinical, surgical assisting, communication, and teamwork skills.
Working Hours
• 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM (30-minute lunch included).
• 5 days per week.
• 4 days per week dedicated to Inpatient/Surgery responsibilities.
• 1 day per week dedicated to Outpatient Clinic responsibilities.
• Start date: Upon completion of credentialing (approximately 60+ days).
