Medical Center of the Rockies, a Level I Trauma Center, is seeking an experienced Physician Assistant – OR First Assist to join their Cardiac Surgery team. This is a full-time opportunity working with a well-established adult cardiac program.

🗓️ Schedule & Call

• Full-Time: 4 ten-hour shifts per week
• Call:
  • 1 night per week
  • 1 weekend per month
• Start Dates: September
  • ⏳ Credentialing timeframe: 90–120 days

✅ Required Procedures

Candidates must be proficient in the following:

• 🫀 CABG with EVH and endoscopic radial harvesting
• General Cardiothoracic Surgery
  • Open & endoscopic approaches
• Coronary Artery Bypass Surgery
  • On-pump & off-pump
• Congenital defect repairs: ASD, VSD, PFO
• Valvular procedures
  • Repair & replacement
• Aneurysm repairs
  • Including aorto-thoracic
• 🫁 Lung resections (including VATS)
• Chest wall & pleural procedures
• Esophagus & diaphragm surgeries
• Left Ventricular Assist Devices (LVADs)
• Insertion of arterial lines

• Patient Population: 100% adult
• Surgical Volume: 1–3 cases per day
• Physicians in Practice: 5
• Advanced Practice Providers:
  • 3 OR First Assists
  • 6 ICU
  • 2 Floor
  • 1 Clinic
• Supervision Required: No
• Other Thoracic Surgeons On-Site: Yes
• Clinic Responsibilities: None

  • ✅ Cardiac Surgery only
  • ❌ No vascular coverage
