🫀 Cardiac Surgery ICU APP (NP/PA) – Inpatient Coverage

📍 Inpatient ICU & Step-Down Units

St. Joseph’s Health Hospital is seeking two (2) full-time Advanced Practice Providers (NP or PA) to join their Cardiac Surgery ICU / Step-Down Team. This opportunity is available due to an employee resignation and offers consistent weekday hours in a collaborative critical care environment.

📅 Coverage Dates

• June 1 – October 2

🗓️ Schedule

• Monday – Friday
• Day/Evening shifts
• 40 hours minimum per week
• May increase to up to 50 hours/week based on service needs
• ❌ No OR coverage required

🏥 Practice Setting

• Inpatient ICU and step-down unit coverage
• Adult patient population
• Average daily workload:
  • Up to 10 notes per day
  • Phone coverage for all inpatients

🩺 Scope & Responsibilities

• Non-operative cardiac surgery ICU role
• Autonomous APP practice with strong physician support
• Supervising physicians and Critical Care physicians onsite

Procedures include:

• Central line placement
• Arterial line placement
• Chest tube placement
• Chest tube removal
• Wound vac changes

✅ Ideal Candidate Profile

• Open to Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
• ICU / Critical Care experience required
• Cardiac critical care experience preferred
• Inpatient medicine with cardiology focus highly desirable
• Comfortable working autonomously in an acute care setting
