Job description
We are seeking a compassionate and clinically strong PA or NP to join a growing pulmonology team serving diverse communities in the Bronx. This opportunity offers a balanced mix of outpatient management and inpatient consultative care, focusing on chronic and complex respiratory conditions in New York City.
Work collaboratively with pulmonary physicians to manage asthma, COPD, pulmonary fibrosis, sleep apnea, and other respiratory disorders. Job Responsibilities
β’ Evaluate and manage asthma, COPD, interstitial lung disease, and sleep disorders
β’ Order and interpret chest imaging, pulmonary function tests, ABGs, and sleep studies
β’ Collaborate with supervising physicians on chronic disease management plans
β’ Educate patients on inhaler use, oxygen therapy, and lifestyle modifications
β’ Assist with procedures such as thoracentesis and bronchoscopy (based on credentialing)
β’ Provide inpatient consults, rounding, and discharge planning as needed
β’ Prescribe medications and respiratory therapies within scope
β’ Participate in care coordination and quality improvement initiatives
β’ Maintain accurate and timely EMR documentation
Qualifications
β’ PA: Masterβs Degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program
β’ NP: Masterβs or Doctorate in Nursing (Adult, Family, or Acute Care)
Licensure/Certification:
β’ Active New York State PA or NP License
β’ National Certification (NCCPA, AANP, or ANCC)
β’ DEA registration with prescriptive authority
β’ BLS and ACLS required (PALS preferred if applicable)
Experience:
β’ 1β2 years in Pulmonology, Internal Medicine, or Critical Care preferred
β’ New graduates with strong pulmonary or ICU clinical rotations considered
