Job Description
A community services organization on Long Island is currently seeking a licensed Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to join their outpatient team in Suffolk County on a Part-time basis.
Responsibilities:
The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner will be responsible for:
- Providing direct clinical care including assessments, medication management, and medication administration
- Providing psychiatric evaluations to clients
- Providing treatment planning recommendations
- Medication management
- Providing psychiatric emergency crisis management and consultation
- Participating in clinical training and staff development
- Ensuring documentation meets regulatory and accrediting agency standards
- Providing assistance with administrative work
- Performing other duties, as needed
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience working as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner
- Master's Degree from an accredited advanced Nurse Practitioner program in Psychiatric-Mental Health
- NYS RN and NP (Psychiatry and Mental Health) licensures
- Valid DEA registration
- BLS certification
- License for Suboxone experience (Suboxone (buprenorphine and naloxone)
- Knowledgeable about federal and state regulations governing medical/clinical treatment in substance use treatment programs
- Experience working directly with people from diverse racial, ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds
- Working knowledge of Electronic Medical Records (EMRs)
Desired Skills:
- National Board Certification (PMHNP) within 12 months of hire
- Familiarity with OASAS, OMH, and DOH regulations
- Bilingual (English and Spanish)
- Methadone experience
- Experience in addiction medicine or substance use and/or mental health treatment programs
