Pediatric APP Locum Opportunity – South Carolina

We are seeking 2–3 experienced Pediatric APPs for an ongoing inpatient locum opportunity in South Carolina, beginning December 2026. Coverage may be provided across multiple locations and will include inpatient Pediatrics, nursery coverage, neonatal care, and call.

Assignment Details

• Start Date: December 1, 2026
• 36 guaranteed hours
• Coverage may be provided across Orangeburg, Columbia, or East Cooper

Schedule

• Inpatient coverage
• Call required
• No telehealth

Practice Setting

• Inpatient Pediatrics
• Level I/II Nursery
• Pediatric and neonatal patient population
• Average daily census: approximately 1–2
• Pediatric ED consultations as requested
• Epic EMR
• No Trauma designation

Clinical Responsibilities

• Provide inpatient Pediatric and Nursery coverage
• Manage sick and premature newborns
• Care for infants as premature as 32 weeks gestation
• Pediatric consultations in the Emergency Department
• Neonatal resuscitation
• CPAP
• Ventilator management
• Peripheral IV placement
• Arterial sticks
• Administration of pulmonary surfactant
• Umbilical line placement and management
• Catheter placement
• Circumcision experience preferred

Requirements

• Pediatric Nurse Practitioner or specialized Physician Assistant
• Active South Carolina license required
• Active South Carolina DHEC registration required
• Epic experience required
• Must be comfortable caring for infants at 32 weeks gestation
• Must be proficient in neonatal resuscitation and sick-newborn procedures
• Circumcision experience preferred

Ideal Candidate

An experienced Pediatric NP or specialized PA who is comfortable independently managing inpatient pediatric and neonatal patients, including sick and premature newborns down to 32 weeks gestation. Candidates should have strong procedural experience with neonatal resuscitation, CPAP, ventilator management, surfactant administration, and umbilical lines and be comfortable participating in call coverage.
