Position Overview:
The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) plays a crucial role in managing cardiac critical care patients and is also actively involved in caring for medical critical care patients. The APP is responsible for overseeing the critical care aspects of assigned patients, from admission to transfer, ensuring comprehensive and high-quality care throughout their hospital stay. The APP may also coordinate care from admission to discharge and provide outpatient/ambulatory care coordination to ensure continuous and seamless patient care.

Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the care of cardiac and medical critical care patients, overseeing their treatment from admission through to transfer.
- Coordinate care across all phases of patient treatment, including inpatient admission, ongoing critical care management, and discharge planning.
- Provide outpatient and ambulatory care coordination to ensure continuity of care post-discharge.
- Perform procedures such as intubation, central line placement, arterial line placement, chest tube placement, and lumbar puncture.
- Maintain a strong foundation in evidence-based practice to ensure safe and high-quality patient care.
- Demonstrate advanced clinical knowledge, technical competency, and sound clinical judgment in all aspects of care.
- Exhibit professionalism in communication, documentation, and patient interactions.
- Maintain compliance with all documentation standards, ensuring timely and accurate records.
- Take responsibility for ongoing professional development and maintain competency validation in the clinical field.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Strong expertise in evidence-based medical or nursing practice.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
- Proven ability to manage complex clinical cases and make sound, timely decisions.
- Commitment to continuous professional development and staying current in medical knowledge and skills.
What You’ll Bring:
- Nurse Practitioners: Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) with Pediatric Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (CPNP-AC) certification. Family Nurse Practitioners or Pediatric Primary Care Nurse Practitioners must obtain Pediatric Acute Care Nurse Practitioner certification within one year of hire date.
- Physician Assistants: BS required, PA-C certified
- Experience: At least 1 year related experience, preferably in critical care and/or cardiology

Qualifications
Family Nurse Practitioners or Pediatric Primary Care Nurse Practitioners must obtain Pediatric Acute Care Nurse Practitioner certification within one year of hire date.

Physician Assistants: BS required, PA-C certified
Qualified Candidates must have: At least 1 year related experience, preferably in critical care and/or cardiology
