Position Summary

The facility is seeking a Pain Management Physician Assistant to join its expanding Pain Management team in Bronx, New York . This is a full-time opportunity. The role focuses on delivering comprehensive pain management care by evaluating, diagnosing, and managing patients experiencing acute and chronic pain conditions while collaborating closely with supervising physicians and interdisciplinary care teams.

Essential Position Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive patient evaluations including detailed medical histories and physical examinations focused on pain-related conditions.

  • Assist physicians in diagnosing and managing acute and chronic pain disorders such as musculoskeletal pain, neuropathic pain, spine-related conditions, arthritis, and post-surgical pain.

  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests including laboratory studies, imaging, and other relevant procedures.

  • Assist with pre-procedure and post-procedure care for interventional pain management treatments such as injections and other minimally invasive procedures.

  • Develop and implement individualized pain management treatment plans in collaboration with supervising physicians.

  • Provide medication management including monitoring patient response to analgesics and other pain-related therapies.

  • Educate patients on pain management strategies, medication adherence, lifestyle modifications, and non-pharmacologic pain control methods.

  • Coordinate care with primary care physicians, physical therapists, neurologists, orthopedic specialists, and other providers.

  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the electronic health record (EHR).

  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and interdisciplinary team meetings to support optimal patient outcomes.

Qualifications

Education:
Master’s degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program.

Certification:
National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) certification required.

Licensure:
Active or eligible Physician Assistant license in New York.

DEA registration (or eligibility).

Experience:
Prior experience in pain management, orthopedics, neurology, physical medicine and rehabilitation, or internal medicine preferred.

New graduates with strong clinical training are encouraged to apply.
