Job description
Well-established Orthopedic Group seeks to add a full-time Physician Assistant to their team. The position will include both the OR and the clinic. The Physician Assistant will support an Orthopedic Surgeon with an Upper Extremity Fellowship that has a very busy practice. This doctor handles sports injuries with a heavy focus on upper extremities especially hand, wrist and elbow, fractures and some general cases. Patient base includes all age levels as well as athletic injuries.
Responsibilities include: providing first assist, running a clinic, reductions, patient evaluation and education, pre- and post-H&P’s, injections (small joint, trigger point and sin-visc), consultation and reviewing lab results in both a clinic and hospital setting. This position has optional paid call and offers overtime compensation. Successful Physician Assistants should be NCCPA-Certified. Previous orthopedic experience is preferred but will train a recent graduate with an orthopedic rotation).
The location is in the beautiful Palm Springs area. This area is a MECCA for golf and tennis. There is a great all year-round outdoor living along with a very reasonable cost of living for the state of California. Base salary is open and depends on experience, overtime (time and a half) after a 40-hour work week and a production bonus. Additionally, there is an excellent benefits package.
