A well-established musculoskeletal and spine-focused practice in Northern New Jersey is seeking an experienced Physician Assistant with orthopedic spine experience to join its growing clinical team.

This position offers a mix of surgical first assist responsibilities and outpatient spine care, working closely with experienced surgeons and multidisciplinary specialists to support patients throughout their treatment journey. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced orthopedic environment and is passionate about improving patient mobility and quality of life.

This role will rotate between multiple clinic locations in North Jersey, helping ensure continuity of care for patients across the practice.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Assist orthopedic spine surgeons in the operating room as a surgical first assist approximately 1–2 days per week
  • Perform pre-operative evaluations, post-operative follow-ups, and patient consultations
  • Review and interpret diagnostic imaging such as MRIs, CT scans, and X-rays
  • Develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans for spine and musculoskeletal conditions
  • Educate patients and families on diagnoses, procedures, recovery expectations, and treatment options
  • Work collaboratively with pain management specialists, surgeons, and rehabilitation teams
  • Provide ongoing clinical care and monitoring for patients recovering from orthopedic spine procedures
  • Maintain thorough and accurate clinical documentation in the electronic medical record
  • Rotate between North Jersey office locations to support patient care needs

Qualifications

  • Active New Jersey Physician Assistant license
  • DEA license required
  • Minimum 2–3 years of orthopedic spine experience
  • Strong background in surgical first assist and spine procedures
  • Ability to interpret diagnostic imaging and clinical findings

The ideal candidate is an experienced Orthopedic Physician Assistant who is comfortable working both in the operating room and in a clinical setting. This person enjoys collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and is committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centered musculoskeletal care.

Candidates currently working in in-network roles must be willing to transition out of network credentialing prior to start date due to payer requirements.
