Job description
We currently have an excellent opportunity for a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our Nephrology Department.
The Nurse Practitioner will care for patients with chronic kidney disease, acute kidney Injury in the inpatient setting under the supervision of and with the collaboration of an attending nephrologist. Will be responsible for seeing and coordinating care of these patients, including evaluation of new patients, follow-up of patients, evaluating and monitoring kidney function; BP control; appropriate testing; evaluation of medications with appropriate ordering, prescribing and titration of meds.
Description:
This position has primary focus on the medical management of patients.
This role is a key provider in a multidisciplinary team approach in managing this patient population; opportunity for expanded role in outpatient management of chronic kidney disease, peritoneal dialysis, and home dialysis.
Provides comprehensive health care to patients in various states of health or illness in collaboration with one or more physicians using guidelines agreed upon with physicians.
Weekend coverage required 1-2 weekends per month
Requirements:
Experience in medical or surgical ICU environment; dialysis experience a plus.
Board Certification required.
Valid Connecticut license is required.
