Baptist Health's Inpatient Medicine is seeking a highly skilled Advanced Practice Provider (Physician Assistant) to join our Hybrid Transfer Center and Downtown Admissions team in Jacksonville, Florida. This unique, dynamic role blends real-time clinical decision-making, care coordination, and inpatient admissions support across two mission-critical areas of the health system.
Position Overview
This APP provides inpatient care, treatment, evaluation, and patient education under the supervision of the overseeing physician according to Baptist Inpatient Medicine Nurse Practitioner/APP protocols. The role supports smooth inpatient flow, timely admissions, and efficient patient throughput across Baptist Health facilities.
This is a 9a–9p swing-shift position.
Key Responsibilities
Swing Shift (9a–9p)

Facilitate discharges before 12 p.m. to support daily throughput.

Queue and prepare anticipated discharges for the following day.

Support overflow admissions during peak volume periods.

Respond rapidly to acute inpatient needs.
PCLC (Patient Logistics & Transfer Center)

Provide real-time clinical decision-making for systemwide transfers.

Optimize bed assignments across the hospital network.

Coordinate care with inpatient teams, logistics personnel, and hospital leadership.

Ensure safe, timely patient movement throughout the system.
Qualifications
Education Required:
-
Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Master-level Physician Assistant degree.
Education Preferred:
-
Doctorate of Nursing Practice (DNP) or related Doctorate degree.
Experience Required:
-
5+ years Nurse Practitioner experience in an inpatient, acute care, or hospital medicine environment.
Licensure & Certification Required:
-
Certified Nurse Practitioner (CNP) or Physician Assistant-C (PA-C)
-
Florida Licensed Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP) or PA License
-
BLS/ACLS (or ability to obtain prior to start)
