I am the Associate Medical Director for our hospitalist team at Franciscan Health St. James campus in Olympia Fields, Illinois. I have been a part of Sound Physicians since 2018 and Franciscan Health since 2023. I am proud of the hospitalist program we have built and welcome interest from experienced Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants who want to serve a hospitalist APP with our team. I want to share more about it, specifically about our people, practice, and purpose, as you consider your options:

People

• Sound Physicians at Franciscan Health is comprised of an academic and clinical hospitalist team, meeting the community’s needs, and providing education to internal medicine residents.
• Our 26 FTE hospitalist team consists of a Medical Director, Associate Medical Director, Program Manager, Clinical Performance Nurses, Physician Hospitalists, and APPs.
• We have been partnering with Franciscan Health Olympia Fields since summer 2023, and we have already made great strides in improving patient experience and overall quality outcomes for our teams and the hospital.
• Our faculty and clinical teams are highly diverse in education and experience and come from around the world.
• We value our collaboration with the ancillary and nursing staff, other residencies and fellowship programs, and specialists throughout the hospital.

Practice

• Our hospital serves patients within our 214-bed facility, and while a sizable portion of our patients are geriatric, we see a wide variety of diagnoses in adults of all ages.
• Serve as the primary attending within our 18-bed observation unit, rounding, and discharging patients.
• Position will be day shift, working 12 hours (7am-7pm) on a rotating 7 day on, 7 days off basis.
• Never work alone as physician rounders will be readily available to assist during high census and/or adhering to hospital bylaws.
• One year of experience as a hospitalist APP is required for this position.
• Participate in hospital committees based on interest and availability.
• Compensation is comprised of annual salary, plus incentive bonuses. This position also qualifies for our pathway to partnership program.
