Job description We are looking for an experienced Medical Oncology PA or PA for our Hematology/Oncology practice. The ideal candidate will have a current Oklahoma license. Mid-level Provider for Hematology/Oncology - Development of Hematology/Oncology patient service - Continuity of patient care from the outpatient to inpatient setting - Familiarity with the management of post-chemotherapy side effects -Neutropenic fever -Tumor lysis -Intractable nausea -Familiarity with oncologic supportive care -Acute pain exacerbation management -Malnutrition/ cancer cachexia/TPN oFacilitate the administration of multi-day chemo regimens oFacilitate unscheduled admissions -Coordination of same day blood product transfusions or IV fluid administration not accommodated by outpatient Hematology/Oncology Service ? Late-in-the-day transfusion/IV fluid ? Transfusion on busy/fully-booked days - Timely initial response to same-day/mid-day consults when all doctors are in clinic - Mid-level functions as clinical leader in outpatient clinic ? Education of nursing staff about general oncology ? Supervision and improvement of nursing flow - Outpatient Clinic ? PRN (follow-up appointments) - Provides support for oncology department to meet service agreement of seeing new patients/consults within 5 business days - Routine lab follow up checks - Mid chemo cycle follow ups - Initial responder to any inpatient problem/emergency - AM or PM inpatient pre-round work ups - Patient education - Extended new patient chemo education - Handle unexpected hospital admissions from the clinic - Unanticipated treatment side effects - Drug reactions *Working hours of mid-level provider will be Monday through Friday 8-5 PM, with no night or weekend call. * 3 FT Medical Oncologist Contact us today for more details concerning this oustanding practice opportunity.
