Hematology/Oncology PA Locum Opportunity – MN

We are seeking Nurse Practitioners or Physician Assistants for full-time inpatient Hematology/Oncology coverage in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Two APPs are needed one with a strong Hematology focus and one focused primarily on Oncology.

Assignment Details

• Start Date: 01/11/2027
• Initial contract: 3 months
• Option to extend
• Locum-to-permanent options available
• Full-time coverage
• 2 APPs needed

Schedule

• Monday–Friday
• 8:00 AM–4:30 PM
• Day shifts
• No call
• No weekend coverage

Practice Setting

• Inpatient Hematology/Oncology
• Acute care hospital
• 686-bed hospital
• Approximately 11–16 patients per day
• Epic EMR
• APP and physician support available during daytime coverage

Clinical Responsibilities

Hematology-focused APP:

• Inpatient Hematology coverage
• Must be comfortable with both benign and malignant Hematology
• Bone marrow knowledge preferred; specialized bone marrow experience is not required

Oncology-focused APP:

• Inpatient Medical Oncology coverage
• Must be comfortable working independently with solid tumor patients
• No locum coverage of the infusion center

Requirements

• Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
• Active Minnesota license required for ASAP start
• Appropriate APP board certification
• Hematology experience required for the Hematology position
• BLS required
• ACLS required
• DEA not required
• Epic experience preferred based on facility EMR
• Clean background required for temporary privileges

Credentialing

• Approximately 60–90 days
• Temporary privileges may be available for candidates with a clean background

Ideal Candidate

An experienced Hematology/Oncology NP or PA seeking a full-time inpatient assignment with a consistent Monday–Friday daytime schedule and no call or weekends. Candidates with strong benign/malignant Hematology experience are particularly needed for the Hematology-focused opening.
