Free-Standing Cancer Center | South Carolina

A free-standing cancer center in South Carolina is seeking a Locum Nurse Practitioner to provide Hematology/Oncology coverage due to provider loss.

Assignment Details

  • Dates: February 1, 2026 – September 30, 2026

  • Setting: Outpatient Oncology with inpatient call/rounding

  • Patient Population: Adult & Geriatric

  • EMR: EPIC

  • Credentialing: Approximately 60 days

Schedule & Call

  • First call for patient and hospital calls:

    • Tuesday 4:30 PM – Wednesday 8:00 AM

    • Friday 4:30 PM – Monday 8:00 AM

  • On-site inpatient rounding on weekends

  • Call rotation every 5–6 weeks (based on staffing)

Clinical Breakdown

  • 65% benign hematology

  • 35% malignant oncology

  • Average outpatient volume: ~15 patients/day

  • Average inpatient/call volume: ~20 patients/day

  • Practice includes 8 physicians and 4 APPs

Responsibilities

  • Management of bone marrow transplant patients

  • Blood bank coordination

  • Ordering labs and imaging

  • Prescribing and treatment management

  • Chemotherapy administered by oncology nursing staff

Travel & Expenses

  • Facility reimburses flight, lodging, rental car, and mileage

Requirements

  • Board Certified in Hematology & Oncology

  • Active South Carolina license (or willingness to obtain)

  • BLS and DEA required
