Job description
We are seeking an experienced Physician Assistant (PA) to join a collaborative Gastroenterology team providing care in both clinic and inpatient settings.
The PA will evaluate patients, perform physical examinations, order and interpret diagnostic testing, diagnose and manage acute and chronic conditions, develop treatment plans, prescribe medications, and provide education to patients and families.
Candidates with experience in Gastroenterology, Acute Care, Cardiology, Family Medicine, Women's Health, or Urgent Care are encouraged to apply. Gastroenterology experience is strongly preferred.
Job Responsibilities
Review medical histories and medical records
Order and interpret laboratory tests, imaging, and advanced diagnostic studies
Diagnose acute and chronic medical conditions
Develop and implement treatment plans
Prescribe medications and monitor treatment outcomes
Provide patient care in outpatient and inpatient settings
Maintain accurate clinical documentation
Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, medications, and preventive care
Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals
Promote disease prevention and healthy lifestyle practices
Maintain and advance clinical knowledge through continuing education
Qualifications
National PA certification
Master's degree preferred
Previous PA experience in a clinic, hospital, ER, or similar setting
Strong knowledge of acute and chronic patient care
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong clinical judgment and critical-thinking abilities
Strong teamwork and professional ethics
Epic EMR experience preferred
Working Hours
Hospital rotations: Schedule varies
Call: Occasional night call
