Position Summary
The facility is seeking a Gastroenterology Physician Assistant to join its expanding Gastroenterology team in Bronx, New York . This is a full-time opportunity. The role focuses on providing high-quality digestive health care, supporting gastroenterologists in evaluating, diagnosing, and managing patients with gastrointestinal conditions while ensuring coordinated and patient-centered care.

Essential Position Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive patient evaluations including medical history and physical examinations for gastrointestinal conditions.

Assist gastroenterologists in diagnosing and managing disorders such as GERD, IBS, inflammatory bowel disease, liver disease, and gastrointestinal bleeding.

Order and interpret diagnostic tests including laboratory studies, imaging, and other relevant procedures.

Assist with pre-procedure and post-procedure patient management for endoscopic procedures.

Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with supervising physicians.

Provide medication management and monitor patient response to therapy.

Educate patients on digestive health, dietary modifications, medication adherence, and preventive care.

Coordinate care with primary care providers and other specialists.

Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the electronic health record (EHR).

Participate in quality improvement initiatives and interdisciplinary team meetings.

Qualifications

Education:
Master’s degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program.

Certification:
National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants ( NCCPA ) certification required.

Licensure:
Active or eligible Physician Assistant license in New York .

DEA registration (or eligibility).

Experience:
Prior experience in gastroenterology, internal medicine, or a related specialty preferred.

New graduates with strong clinical training are encouraged to apply.
