Position Summary
The facility is seeking a Gastroenterology Physician Assistant to join its expanding specialty team in Bronx, New York. This is a full-time opportunity .
This is an excellent opportunity to practice in a collaborative, multi-specialty environment with strong referral support from internal primary care providers. The Physician Assistant will work closely with Gastroenterologists to evaluate, diagnose, and manage disorders of the gastrointestinal tract, liver, pancreas, and biliary system, while contributing to a patient-centered, evidence-based care model.
The role focuses primarily on outpatient care, with opportunities to assist in procedures and participate in specialty clinics.

Essential Position Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive outpatient gastroenterology services in collaboration with supervising physicians.
Evaluate and manage acute and chronic gastrointestinal conditions including GERD, IBD, IBS, liver disease, and colorectal disorders.
Perform patient consultations, follow-up visits, and hospital rounding as needed.
Assist with and/or perform procedures as permitted, including preparation and post-procedure care for endoscopy and colonoscopy.
Order and interpret diagnostic tests including laboratory studies and imaging.
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
Educate patients on digestive health, preventive screening, and lifestyle modifications.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the electronic health record (EHR).
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and interdisciplinary meetings.
Qualifications
Education:
Master’s degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
Certification:
NCCPA Certified Physician Assistant (PA-C).
Licensure:
Active or eligible Physician Assistant license in New York.
DEA registration (or eligibility).
Experience:
Prior experience in Gastroenterology preferred.
Candidates with strong internal medicine or primary care backgrounds and interest in GI are encouraged to apply.
