A Connecticut-based healthcare services network is actively seeking a licensed Nurse Practitioner (NP) and/or Physician Assistant (PA) to join their Gastroenterology staff at one of their facilities in New Haven County. In this role, the Gastroenterology NP / PA will be responsible for providing high-quality outpatient care.

Responsibilities

The Gastroenterology NP / PA will:

• Examine, obtain medical history, and treat acute and chronic illnesses
• Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests
• Create treatment plans and involve patients and family members in those plans
• Initiate appropriate specialty referrals
• Collaborate on improvement in care delivery and service with management, other Physicians, and staff
• Work with Practice Management to ensure compliance with billing and coding requirements
• Perform other duties, as needed

Qualifications:

• 1+ year of experience in Rheumatology
• Graduation from an accredited APRN or PA program
• Licensed to practice Medicine in the State of Connecticut
• Valid DEA registration
• Controlled Substance certification
• Solid assessment, clinical, and documentation skills
• Patient oriented
• Great interpersonal skills
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
• Strong attention to detail
• Highly organized
