Urgent Care Physician Assistant

Location: Georgetown, Texas
Status: Full-Time
Schedule: Three 12-hour shifts per week; standard clinic hours are 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM, seven days a week

Position Summary

NextCare Urgent Care is seeking a Full-Time Nurse Practitioner (FNP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join our team in Georgetown, Texas. You'll be supported by experienced clinical teams, strong peer relationships, clear practice guidelines, and accessible medical leadership who provide real-time guidance and mentorship. The work is engaging and varied, with a broad patient population and generally low-acuity presentations that keep skills sharp without the pressure of inpatient follow-up.

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients of all ages in an urgent care setting

• Manage acute illnesses, injuries, and occupational health visits

• Order and interpret diagnostic studies, including labs and imaging

• Perform urgent care procedures such as suturing, splinting, and wound management

• Clearly communicate diagnoses, treatment plans, and discharge instructions

• Document patient care accurately and efficiently in the EHR

• Code and bill services appropriately

• Maintain productivity consistent with urgent care benchmarks

• Practice in alignment with NextCare clinical standards and values

Required Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted Texas NP or PA license

• Board certification:

  • Nurse Practitioner: FNP certification through ANCC or AANP

  • Physician Assistant: NCCPA certification

• Active DEA license or ability to obtain

• Ability to treat patients of all ages

• Active BLS certification

• EHR proficiency

• Willingness to work rotating weekends and holidays

• DOT certification or willingness to obtain (fees covered)

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior urgent care, emergency medicine, or fast-track experience

• Strong procedural skills, including suturing, splinting, and wound care

• Experience with initial X-ray interpretation prior to radiology over-read

• Confidence practicing independently in a high-volume urgent care setting
