Locums – Lake City, Florida | NP/PA Emergency Medicine Opportunity

Clinical Role RecruitWell is seeking experienced Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants for locums Emergency Medicine coverage in Lake City, Florida. This is a 13-week assignment with a primary need for PM shifts. Providers will work in a busy Emergency Department with a collaborative physician/APP staffing model and dedicated triage support for lower-acuity patients.

Assignment Details

• Start: ASAP

• Assignment duration: 13 weeks

• PM shifts needed

• Shift length: 10–12 hours

• All hours are clinical

• One orientation day

• One shadow shift with Expanse EMR training

Position Highlights

• NP/PA Emergency Medicine opportunity

• 40 Emergency Department bays

• Approximately 1.8 patients per hour

• 10–11 Emergency Medicine providers staffed over a 24-hour period

• Nurse/APP triage available for lower-acuity patients

• ED admission rate: Approximately 15%

• Established Emergency Department support staff

Clinical Details & Responsibilities

• Evaluate and treat Emergency Department patients

• Provide care across a broad range of Emergency Medicine presentations

• Manage lower- and higher-acuity patients as clinically appropriate

• Collaborate with physicians, APPs, nurses, and other Emergency Department staff

• Complete timely clinical documentation

• Coordinate admissions and discharge planning as appropriate

Support & Technology

• Nurse/APP triage for lower-acuity patients

• Standard Emergency Department support staff

• Nursing ratio: Approximately 1:4

• 10–11 Emergency Medicine providers across a 24-hour period

• EMR: Expanse

• Shadow shift includes EMR training

Requirements

• Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant

• Board Certified required

• Active Florida license required

• Minimum 1–2 years of experience required

• Emergency Medicine experience required

Credentialing

• Active Florida license must be in hand

• Orientation and EMR training provided prior to independent coverage

Organization & Team

• 40-bed Emergency Department

• Collaborative physician and APP staffing model

• Dedicated lower-acuity triage support

• PM shift coverage need
