Advanced Practice - Emergency Medicine position in: Syracuse, NY

APP – Emergency Medicine Location: Syracuse, New York • Seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join an established Emergency Department in Syracuse, New York. • Work collaboratively with Emergency Physicians and other ED NPs/PAs to provide comprehensive emergency care. • Join an inclusive, close-knit team focused on improving patient outcomes and maintaining a healthy work-life balance. • Opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment while providing high-quality, patient-centered emergency services. Position Responsibilities • Obtain comprehensive medical histories and perform physical examinations. • Order and evaluate appropriate diagnostic tests. • Administer treatments and monitor patient conditions. • Prescribe medications as appropriate. • Assist Emergency Physicians with patient care and procedures. • Counsel and educate patients regarding diagnoses, treatments, medications, and follow-up care. • Respond effectively to emergency situations and assume a leadership role when necessary. • Maintain quality, safety, and infection-control standards. Requirements • Current New York State certification/registration as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant. • 5+ years of NP/PA experience preferred, but not required. • Current BLS, ACLS, ATLS, and PALS certifications. • Completion of annual NIHSS and stroke CME. • Demonstrated ability to remain calm and effective in emergency situations and establish a leadership role when needed. • Knowledge of current and emerging trends in technologies, techniques, issues, and approaches within the area of expertise. • Demonstrated ability to maintain quality, safety, and infection-control standards. • Knowledge of health promotion, health-risk identification, and patient education principles and techniques.
