Locums – Independence, Missouri, Emergency Medicine NP/PA Job

• Schedule: All dates and times needed. Shifts are typically morning and mid-shift.
• Shift times: 9a-9p or 3p-1a
• Call: None

• Active Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant License
• Minimum 2 years of extensive Emergency Department experience
• No new graduates

• Specialty: Emergency Medicine
• Provider Type: Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA)
• Job Type: Locum Tenens
• Setting: Free-Standing Emergency Department
• Assignment: Ongoing
• Patient Volume: Approximately 80 patients per day
• Patient Acuity: Primarily ESI Level 4 and Level 5
• Trauma: Not a designated trauma center this is a FSED

• Evaluate and treat emergency department patients
• Perform basic emergency procedures, including:
  • Laceration repair
  • Splinting
  • Incision and drainage
• No inpatient rounding
• No ICU responsibilities
• Ventilator management not required

• 24-hour physician coverage
• 2–4 nurses per shift
• Dedicated imaging technician available 24/7
• EMR training provided
• Shadow shift included during orientation

• EMR Training: Provided during orientation
• Department: 10 beds with 1 trauma bay
• Admission Rate: Approximately 3.5%
• Follow-Up Care: Primarily outpatient referrals
