Emergency Department PA – Locums Coverage

Location: Nags Head, NC

Position Overview:

A hospital in Nags Head, North Carolina is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to provide locum tenens coverage in the Emergency Department. Providers must be available to arrive one day prior to their first scheduled shift for orientation.

Position Details:

• Inpatient setting (Emergency Department)

• Must have ED inpatient experience within the last 12 months

• No call required

• Average daily inpatient census: 20

• No ICU or critical care responsibilities

• Provider responsible for responding to codes

• EMR: EPIC

Team & Facility:

• Established team of 6 physicians and 3 NP/PAs

• 21-bed hospital

• 18 acute care medical-surgical beds

• 2 labor & delivery/recovery beds

• Level II nursery

• 3 operating rooms (including dedicated C-section room)

• 24-hour emergency department

• Onsite anesthesiologist and radiologist

• 24-hour laboratory services

• Access to specialty consults: general surgery, orthopedics, cardiology, and telestroke

• Air and ground transport available for rapid patient transfer

Requirements:

• Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant

• Recent ED inpatient experience (within the past 12 months)

• Active North Carolina license

• NC DEA required

• BLS, ACLS, and PALS/APLS (American Heart Association)
