This innovative opportunity is for an experienced Advanced Practice Provider (APP), either a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or a Physician Assistant (PA), to partner with attending physicians working with the Hospital Medicine Unit at a leading Academic Hospital providing inpatient care.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Serve as the responding clinician for already admitted patients. This is the point of first contact for Nursing and other clinical team members. In this role, documentation of significant events and responding to care needs is expected in collaboration with the attending physician.

  • Assess and admit patients to the Medical service - including documenting in the electronic health record and entering orders.

Shift hours are, from 7pm-7am.

The ideal candidate must be a self-starter and have the ability to respond, triage, and systematically care for both non-urgent and acute issues that arise in complex medical inpatients.

Qualifications

This is innovative APP Hospitalist opportunity for an Advanced Practice Provider (APP), either a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or a Physician Assistant (PA) to partner with attending Hospitalists in inpatient care with a leading Academic Hospital in Boston. This partnership aims to reduce length of stay and increase efficiency in care delivery through the entirety of inpatient care. This role includes direct care of medical inpatients through co-management with the attending of record. The APP will follow a total of 6 patients on average, with one possible admission per day. The APP promotes a collaborative relationship and effort between the Hospitalists, Private Physicians, Nurses, and the interdisciplinary health care team toward resource management.
