First Physicians Group of Sarasota Memorial Health Care System is currently accepting CVs from NPs (ACNP, AGACNP)/PA-Cs with acute care experience to join their employed physician group on the West Coast of Florida.

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Full time Nurse Practitioner (ACNP, AGACNP) or Physician Assistant (PA-C) position to work the night shift with the ICU team.
  • Hospital-based position working 12 hour shifts, 14 total shifts per month at both the SMH Venice Hospital and SMH Main Campus to include weekends.
  • Shifts will be 7PM-7AM.
  • Work collaboratively with Pulmonary/Critical Care (Intensivists) at each hospital along with other surgical subspecialties to provide care.
  • Circulate the units: see patients and review daily notes, labs and studies to identify patient needs.
  • Discuss care plans with RN’s and enter orders accordingly.
  • Review ABGs, vent settings and plan accordingly with Respiratory Therapists (RTs).
  • Address cross coverage issues to include abnormal labs or changes in patient condition.
  • Provide stabilization of patient if deterioration occurs.
  • Will place central lines, participate in stroke alerts and respond to house-wide codes.
  • Responsible to complete admissions to the ICU.
  • Current NP (ACNP, AGACNP) or PA-C acute care experience is preferred.
