Cardiology Physician Assistant opening in Ohio
Lima, OH

Monday–Friday | 8 AM–5 PM | Clinic & Inpatient
An established Cardiology practice in Lima, Ohio is seeking a Physician Assistant to join its team. This full-time opportunity offers a combination of outpatient clinic and inpatient Cardiology responsibilities, providing the opportunity to care for cardiovascular patients across multiple settings. The position features a primarily weekday daytime schedule with a rotating weekend and call requirement.
Position Highlights
* Full-time, permanent Physician Assistant opportunity
* Cardiology practice
* Minimum of 40 hours per week
* 80 hours biweekly
* Primarily Monday–Friday
* Typical schedule of 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
* 8-hour shifts
* Combination of outpatient clinic and inpatient responsibilities
* Broad exposure to cardiovascular patient care
* Collaborative practice with Cardiologists and other members of the clinical team
* Weekend rotation approximately every 6th weekend
* Call responsibilities associated with weekend coverage
* Schedule may vary based on clinical needs
* Willingness to provide coverage in Van Wert, Ohio when needed
Clinical Responsibilities
* Evaluate and manage Cardiology patients in the outpatient setting
* Participate in the care of hospitalized cardiovascular patients
* Perform comprehensive histories and physical examinations
* Assist with management of acute and chronic cardiovascular conditions
* Order and review appropriate laboratory studies, cardiac testing, and imaging
* Develop treatment plans in collaboration with Cardiologists
* Provide follow-up care and monitor patient progress
* Coordinate care with physicians, nursing, and other specialties
* Educate patients and families regarding cardiovascular conditions, medications, treatment plans, and lifestyle modifications
* Participate in weekend and call coverage as scheduled
* Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation
Qualifications
* Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program
* Current NCCPA certification
* Current or eligible Ohio Physician Assistant license
* Cardiology, Internal Medicine, Hospital Medicine, or related experience preferred
* Comfortable providing both outpatient and inpatient care
* Ability to participate in weekend and call coverage
* Willingness to practice in Van Wert when coverage is needed
* Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills
* Excellent communication and multidisciplinary collaboration skills
* Commitment to high-quality, patient-centered cardiovascular care
