First Physicians Group of Sarasota Memorial Health Care System is seeking to employ a Physician Assistant to join an established and busy practice of (4) four Interventional Cardiologists in Venice, FL. This is a highly productive practice that provides traditional interventional & structural procedures.

The practice is located in Venice, aptly named one of Coastal Living’s "Best Places to Live on the Coast" in 2020.

Within this five- story, 365,000 square-foot-state-of-the-art hospital, visitors will find 110 private patient suites and the full array of hospital services - from cardiology care, orthopedics and intensive care to surgical suites, rehab services and a comprehensive labor, deliver, recovery and post-partum unit - all equipped with the latest in medical technology.

Role & Responsibilities:

• Full time employed position, primarily working Monday – Friday, 8AM to 5PM.
• Call will be 1:7 on weekends.
• The APPs will work in the clinic and hospital setting, rotating one month at each location.
• While in the clinic setting, APPs initiate all new patient visits and will see patients in tandem with the physicians. No procedures are required in the clinic. The Cardiologists do their own stress testing.
• In the Hospital, APPs will perform consults for admissions, daily visits, initiate all discharges and cover “STEMI call” with the Hospital physician. The Cardiologist will follow the APPs consults, round and sign all documentation. No assistance with procedures is required in the hospital.
• Cardiology experience is preferred but not required as the Cardiologists will provide training onsite.
• Candidates will have successfully completed an approved accredited program as a Physician Assistant with appropriate certification exams.
