Clinic, OR & Inpatient | Monday–Friday | Surgical Opportunity
An established Neurosurgery practice in Lima, Ohio is seeking a Physician Assistant to join its growing team. This full-time position offers a diverse clinical experience across the outpatient clinic, operating room, and inpatient setting. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in a fast-paced surgical environment and flexible with scheduling based on patient and practice needs.
Position Highlights
* Full-time, permanent Physician Assistant opportunity
* Neurosurgery practice
* Minimum of 40 hours per week
* Primarily Monday–Friday schedule
* Primarily daytime hours
* 8-hour shifts
* Combination of clinic, operating room, and inpatient responsibilities
* Opportunity to participate in surgical care
* Broad exposure to neurosurgical patients throughout the continuum of care
* Collaborative relationship with Neurosurgeons and other members of the clinical team
* Schedule flexibility required based on practice needs
* Approximately 10 days of call per month
Clinical Responsibilities
* Evaluate and manage Neurosurgery patients in the outpatient clinic
* Assist physicians with the diagnosis and treatment of neurological and spinal conditions
* Participate in preoperative and postoperative patient management
* Provide care for hospitalized Neurosurgery patients
* Assist in the operating room as appropriate
* Perform patient histories and physical examinations
* Order and review appropriate diagnostic testing and imaging
* Develop treatment plans in collaboration with Neurosurgeons
* Coordinate patient care across inpatient and outpatient settings
* Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, procedures, recovery, and follow-up care
* Participate in approximately 10 days of call coverage each month
* Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
Qualifications
* Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program
* Current NCCPA certification
* Current or eligible Ohio Physician Assistant license
* Neurosurgery, Orthopedic Surgery, Spine, or other surgical experience preferred
* Interest in a combination of clinic, OR, and inpatient care
* Ability to accommodate schedule changes based on clinical needs
* Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills
* Excellent communication and multidisciplinary collaboration skills
* Commitment to high-quality, patient-centered surgical care
