Job description

Job description

Wound Care Nurse Practitioner
Charlotte, NC

Job Summary:
Seeking a Nurse Practitioner to participate in bedside wound rounds with facility nursing staff on a coverage basis. We are looking for good clinicians who have enough experience to function independently, but who are still teachable, intellectually curious, and interested in developing genuine expertise in wound medicine.

Job Responsibilities

Participate in bedside wound rounds with facility nursing staff on a coverage basis
Change dressings and perform debridement as deemed necessary
Establish plan of care until subsequent visit
Work within facility protocols and formulary
Working with some of the highest quality-driven providers in wound care.
Administrative support that allows you to keep your focus where it counts - practicing wound care.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate is an NP or PA who has moved beyond the brand-new graduate stage
but is still relatively early in his or her clinical career.
Strong wound knowledge and experience required
Wound care certification not required, but preferred
Current Medical License to practice in the state of NC required
Approximately 2–5 years of clinical experience is a useful target, but this should not be
treated as a rigid requirement.
We would consider someone with less experience if he or she is unusually mature and
clinically capable. Likewise, an experienced clinician can be an excellent candidate if that
person remains highly coachable and wants to learn.
The important distinction is this:
We want someone who is experienced enough to be comfortable functioning as a provider
but not so set in established practice habits that learning a different approach becomes
difficult.
The candidate should already be comfortable:
• Evaluating patients independently
• Developing a plan of care
• Writing clinical orders
• Communicating with patients and families
• Communicating with nurses and other healthcare professionals
• Managing medically complex patients
• Taking responsibility for clinical decisions
• Documenting clinical encounters appropriately
Prior wound-care experience is not required.

Working Hours

Benefits
Schedule - Mon to Fri
No call, night or weekend coverage necessary.
Greater flexibility and autonomy.
Practice model that promotes improved patient outcomes and reduced preventable readmissions.
Company culture dedicated to healthcare quality, process improvement, support and open communication
