Nurse Practitioner – Outpatient Urology
Location: Palm Springs, California
Schedule: Full-Time | Monday–Friday | On-Site
Specialty: Adult Urology
Position Overview
An established specialty practice serving Palm Springs and the greater Coachella Valley is seeking a Nurse Practitioner (FNP, AGNP, or AGPCNP) to join its outpatient urology team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an NP interested in developing or expanding a career in adult urology within a collaborative, physician-led practice. The position offers direct physician mentorship, specialty training, procedural learning opportunities, and long-term professional growth.
Prior urology experience is preferred but not required. Strong NPs coming from internal medicine, primary care, oncology, men's health, women's health, or another adult-focused specialty are encouraged to apply.
Job Responsibilities
Evaluate and manage new and established adult urology patients.
Obtain comprehensive histories and perform appropriate physical examinations.
Develop assessment and treatment plans in collaboration with physicians.
Manage routine and chronic urologic conditions.
Review laboratory, imaging, pathology, and other diagnostic results.
Educate patients regarding diagnoses, medications, treatment options, procedures, and follow-up.
Perform or assist with approved office-based procedures based on training and credentialing.
Coordinate referrals and multidisciplinary care.
Maintain accurate EHR documentation.
Support continuity of care and timely patient follow-up.
Participate in clinical case reviews, specialty training, and professional development.
Collaborate with physicians, APPs, nurses, medical assistants, and other clinical staff.
Qualifications
Depending on experience, training, and credentialing, clinical exposure may include:
BPH and lower urinary tract symptoms
Urinary tract infections
Overactive bladder and urinary incontinence
Kidney stones
Erectile dysfunction and men's health
General adult urology
Postoperative follow-up
Urologic oncology follow-up
Other outpatient urologic conditions
Qualifications
Required:
Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
Current or eligible California RN and NP licensure.
National board certification as an FNP, AGNP, AGPCNP, or relevant NP specialty.
Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic reasoning skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a physician-led specialty practice.
Commitment to patient-centered, evidence-informed care.
Ability to work on-site in Palm Springs, CA.
Preferred:
Urology experience.
Internal medicine or primary care experience.
Oncology, men's health, women's health, or another adult-focused specialty experience.
Outpatient clinical experience.
Experience independently managing an ambulatory patient panel.
Familiarity with specialty procedures and coordinated-care workflows.
Urology experience is not required for the right candidate.
