Locum Tenens – Urgent Care Nurse Practitioner | Boston, Massachusetts Area

Position Overview

Seeking an experienced Advanced Practice Provider for ongoing PRN urgent care coverage. The goal is to build a bench of qualified locum providers for anticipated monthly staffing needs. Specific dates are not yet available, but coverage opportunities may arise at any time.

Located approximately 25 miles southwest of downtown Boston, with access via the Franklin/Foxboro commuter rail line.

Availability & Schedule

• Coverage Type: PRN / As Needed

• Start Date: As needed; no specific dates currently established.

• Staffing Needs: Monthly PRN coverage opportunities.

• Weekday Hours: 8:00 AM–8:00 PM

• Weekend Hours: 8:00 AM–5:00 PM

• Availability: Must be open to occasional weekday and weekend coverage.

Licensure & Qualifications

• Provider Type: Advanced Practice Provider (NP/PA)

• Minimum Experience: 1 year

• Required Experience: Family Practice, Urgent Care, or Emergency Medicine

• State License: Active Massachusetts license required

• DEA: Massachusetts DEA required

• CDS: Required

• Certification: BLS required

Clinical Responsibilities

• Provide outpatient urgent care services.

• Evaluate and treat patients with acute medical conditions.

• Perform common urgent care procedures, including:

  • Suturing

  • Splinting

• Must be proficient in urgent care procedures.

Daily clinical support includes:

• Advanced Practice Provider

• Medical Assistant

• X-ray Technician

• Reception staff

• Administrative support

• EMR: Experity experience preferred, not required.

• No hospital credentialing process required.
