As an Urgent Care NP, you will serve as the frontline provider managing a wide range of non-life-threatening illnesses and injuries. You will operate with a high degree of clinical autonomy, diagnosing conditions, treating acute symptoms, and performing essential minor procedures. Job Responsibilities
• Clinical Procedures: Perform minor outpatient procedures, including suturing, splinting, incision and drainage (I&D), and foreign body removal.
• Diagnostics: Interpret X-rays, EKGs, and lab results to formulate accurate treatment plans.
• Medication Management: Prescribe appropriate medications and therapies in accordance with state regulations.
• Patient Education: Counsel patients and families regarding treatment plans, medication usage, and necessary follow-up care.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate, timely, and thorough electronic health records (EHR).
Qualifications
• Licensure: Active, unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license in the state of Mississippi (or eligible to obtain).
• Certification: Board certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) or Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (AGACNP).
• Credentials: Active Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) registration and Mississippi prescriptive authority.
• Experience: Minimum of 1–2 years of experience in urgent care, emergency medicine, or a high-acuity setting is preferred.
• Autonomy: Proven ability to work solo as the sole clinical provider on-site.
• Life Support: Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
Working Hours
• Sunday: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM
