This is a well-established urgent care network operating multiple clinic locations across the Richmond area, providing comprehensive episodic and outpatient care to a diverse patient population ranging from birth through end of life. The facilities operate seven days a week with extended hours, offering a fast-paced and rewarding clinical environment with strong organizational support.Opportunity:
Board Certified - Urgent CareJob Details:
- Locum and Locum to Perm opportunity covering 3 shifts per week across multiple Richmond area urgent care clinic locations
- Clinics operate 7 days a week, 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM, with 12-hour shifts depending on patient flow
- Expected to see all patients who arrive during hours of operation, with an average of 25 to 50 patients per day per clinic
- 100% outpatient setting with higher acuity cases referred to higher levels of care such as ED/ER
- Patient population spans birth to end of life and varies by clinic location and day
- Perform laceration repair including simple, intermediate, and complex suturing or stapling
- Perform incision and drainage (I&D) including wound packing
- Perform foreign body removal and minor burn management
- Provide skin lesion care and orthopedic injury stabilization including splinting and casting
- Perform joint reduction procedures
- Conduct and interpret diagnostic and point-of-care testing including X-ray interpretation and EKG evaluation
- Interpret point-of-care lab results including rapid strep, flu, COVID-19, RSV, urinalysis, and blood glucose testing
- Perform epistaxis management including anterior nasal packing or chemical cautery (silver nitrate)
- Perform cerumen impaction removal
- Provide airway support including administration of nebulizer treatments and initial emergency stabilization
- Documentation performed using Epic EMR
- Active Virginia medical license required
- Board Certification required
- Active BLS and DEA required
- Minimum 1 year of experience in an ED/ER, primary care, or urgent care setting required
- Clean background with no malpractice or license issues required - no exceptions
- Local candidates preferred; no travel reimbursement provided
- Estimated credentialing timeframe is 60 to 90 days
