Position Summary
The facility is seeking an Urgent Care Nurse Practitioner to join its growing Urgent Care team in Bronx, New York . This is a full-time opportunity. The role focuses on providing high-quality, timely care for patients presenting with acute illnesses and minor injuries while ensuring efficient patient flow and coordinated care within a fast-paced urgent care environment.
Essential Position Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive patient evaluations including medical history, physical examinations, and urgent care assessments.
Diagnose and treat a wide range of acute illnesses and minor injuries such as respiratory infections, fever, lacerations, sprains, fractures, and minor burns.
Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests including laboratory studies, X-rays, and point-of-care testing.
Perform minor procedures such as suturing, wound care, splinting, incision and drainage, and other urgent care interventions within scope of practice.
Develop and implement treatment plans, prescribe medications, and provide follow-up care instructions.
Educate patients on treatment plans, medication use, preventive care, and when to seek further medical attention.
Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and support staff to ensure efficient and coordinated patient care.
Refer patients to specialists or emergency services when higher levels of care are required.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the electronic health record (EHR).
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and team meetings to enhance patient care and operational efficiency.
Qualifications
Education:
Master’s or Doctoral degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
Certification:
Board certification as a Nurse Practitioner (FNP or Adult-Gerontology NP) from a recognized certifying body.
Licensure:
Active or eligible Nurse Practitioner license in New York.
DEA registration (or eligibility).
Experience:
Prior experience in urgent care, emergency medicine, family medicine, or primary care preferred.
New graduates with strong clinical training are encouraged to apply.
