Vascular Surgery Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner Position in Oregon

Opportunity Overview

• Vascular Surgery APP needed for gap coverage
• 1.0 FTE
• Approval for 6 months
• Inpatient and outpatient setting
• 36-bed hospital
• Vascular and Endovascular patient population
• Approximately 15-20 patients per day
• APP will work alongside an MD/DO
• EPIC EMR

Schedule & Coverage

• Approximately 6 call shifts per month
• 10-hour call shifts:
  • 7:00 AM-5:00 PM
  • 5:00 PM-7:00 AM beeper call
• 24-hour weekday call: 7:00 AM-7:00 AM
• 24-hour weekend call available
• Clinic hours: 8:00 AM-4:30 PM
• APP must report at the beginning of a 7:00 AM shift for handoff and rounding
• Current coverage gaps include select dates in October, November, and December
• Oregon-licensed candidates preferred for earlier coverage dates; candidates without an Oregon license may be considered for later dates

Clinical Details

• Inpatient and outpatient Vascular Surgery
• Rounding and admissions required
• First assist in the OR
• Assist with in-clinic procedures
• Vascular and Endovascular care
• Approximately 15-20 patients per day
• First, second, or third assisting experience in General Surgery and surgical subspecialties required
• EPIC EMR

Requirements

• PA or NP
• BLS and ACLS certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Oregon medical/APRN or PA license preferred
• Recent surgical case logs required
• Documentation of training and competency for first-assist privileges required
• NP candidates seeking First Assist in Surgery privileges must provide documentation of training, competency, and procedures performed within the previous 2 years
• Must provide operator information for qualifying surgical cases
