We are seeking a Nurse Practitioner with neurosurgery experience to provide inpatient pediatric neurosurgery coverage in a hospital setting. This is a patient-care-focused role working closely with residents and the neurosurgery team.

Job Responsibilities

• Provide inpatient pediatric neurosurgery patient care.
• Round with the resident team at the beginning of the day.
• Review patient plans and enter/manage orders.
• Evaluate patients who require follow-up or additional assessment.
• Manage daily patient care needs.
• Assist with discharge planning and discharge orders.
• Review and manage inpatient orders.
• Collaborate with residents and the neurosurgery team.
• Provide patient care on the floor; APPs are not required to work in the OR.
• Remove Hemovac and JP drains when qualified and experienced.

Qualifications

• Nurse Practitioner required.
• Board Certification in Neurosurgery required.
• Active Massachusetts NP license required.
• Minimum 1 year of Neurosurgery experience required.
• Pediatric patient experience preferred.
• Experience with inpatient neurosurgical patient care required.
• Experience removing Hemovac/JP drains preferred.
• Epic EMR experience.

Working Hours

Schedule:

• 3 × 13-hour shifts per week
• 6:00 AM–7:00 PM
• Approximately 39 hours/week
• Day shifts only
• No night shifts
• No holidays
• No call
