We are seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner specializing in Pediatric Neurosurgery for a locum opportunity at an Acute Care Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts. This inpatient position focuses on providing comprehensive neurosurgical care for pediatric patients. The provider will collaborate closely with residents and the neurosurgery team by participating in daily rounds, managing patient care plans, entering orders, and coordinating discharges. This is a patient-care-focused role with no operating room responsibilities.
Job Responsibilities
• Evaluate pediatric neurosurgery patients and implement treatment plans.
• Enter and manage patient orders using Epic EMR.
• Coordinate patient discharges and follow-up care.
• Monitor patient progress and communicate changes with the healthcare team.
• Perform inpatient neurosurgery patient management duties.
• Remove Hemovac and JP drains when clinically appropriate.
• Ensure accurate clinical documentation and maintain high-quality patient care.
Qualifications
• Active Massachusetts Nurse Practitioner license required.
• Minimum of 1 year of Pediatric or Neurosurgery experience required.
• Inpatient Neurosurgery experience required.
• Experience with Epic EMR preferred.
• Ability to remove Hemovac and JP drains preferred.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills in a multidisciplinary hospital environment.
Working Hours
• 13-hour day shifts (6:00 AM – 7:00 PM).
• No night shifts.
• No on-call responsibilities.
• No holiday coverage required.
• Assignment duration: 13 weeks.
