This opportunity requires night coverage on a 7p–7a, 7-on / 7-off rotation. Providers must be able to arrive one day prior for orientation. Coverage dates include:

Position Overview:
A high-acuity medical center in Greenville, NC is seeking an experienced Board-Certified Nurse Practitioner to provide night coverage for their neurosurgery service line. This role is fully inpatient and supports a busy Level 1 trauma environment with a well-established neurosurgical team.
Key Responsibilities:

Manage inpatient neurosurgery patients overnight

Perform admissions and discharges (rare at night, but possible)

Conduct inpatient consultations

Provide OR first assist support if desired (optional)

Collaborate closely with attending neurosurgeons and fellow APPs

Maintain clear and timely documentation within the EMR
Practice Environment:

Level 1 Trauma Center
-
Inpatient-only role
-
Robust team: 9 Neurosurgeons & 9 APPs
-
24/7 inpatient neurosurgery coverage and support
Requirements:
-
Board Certification as NP
-
Neurosurgery or high-acuity inpatient experience strongly preferred

Must hold BLS and ACLS (AHA required)

Ability to work a consistent 7-night block schedule

Willingness to complete orientation the day before first shift
