Surgical First Assist + Inpatient Coverage | December 2026

📅 Coverage Needed

• 12/14–12/18: 7:00 AM–5:00 PM
• 12/18–12/21: 5:00 PM–7:00 AM
• 12/28–12/30: 3 × 12-hour shifts
• Weekend Call: Friday 5:00 PM – Monday 7:00 AM
  • Saturday & Sunday rounding: 8:00 AM–12:00 PM
• Weeknight Call: 5:00 PM–7:00 AM
• Ongoing PRN coverage available

🏥 Position Overview

Seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner for a combination of Surgical First Assist OR coverage and Surgical Floor responsibilities.

Responsibilities include:

• Surgical first assisting
• Rounding and progress notes
• Managing orders, discharges and consults
• Assisting with wound and vessel cauterization
• Packing, suturing and wound closure
• Patient positioning and immobilization
• Assisting with suction, drainage and irrigation
• Applying clamps and direct pressure as needed
• Hemostasis management

Will primarily work with General Surgery, OB/GYN, and Orthopedic patients.

📋 Requirements

• NY State License – Must be in hand
• Minimum 2 years of recent experience
• Robotics experience required
• Epic experience required
• AHA BLS, ACLS & ATLS
• AHA or RQI certifications accepted
• Board Certified
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Residents/Fellows not accepted

🏥 Unit Information

• 109 total beds
• Adult acute-care patient population
• Patient ratio approximately 1:10–15
• Epic EMR
• Surgical First Assist + Medical/Surgical Floor coverage
• Anesthesia available for each procedure
