Aequor Healthcare is seeking a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner for a locum tenens Cardiothoracic Surgery role in Arizona. This assignment has specific coverage dates and includes a completion bonus for providers who fulfill the full schedule.

Assignment Dates

Orientation

• Aug 10 and/or Aug 30. 7a to 3p. 8 hour day.

Coverage Schedule

• Aug 11. 7a to 3p. 8 hour day plus weeknight beeper call
• Aug 12. 7a to 3p. 8 hour day plus weeknight beeper call
• Aug 13. 7a to 3p. 8 hour day plus weeknight beeper call
• Sept 1. 7a to 3p. 8 hour day plus weeknight beeper call
• Sept 2. 7a to 3p. 8 hour day plus weeknight beeper call
• Sept 3. 7a to 3p. 8 hour day plus weeknight beeper call,
• Sept 4. 7a to 3p. 8 hour day plus weeknight beeper call,
• Sept 5. 7am to 7am. 24 hour call.
• Sept 6. 7am to 7am. 24 hour call.
• Sept 7. 7am to 7am. 24 hour call. Holiday.
• Sept 8. 7a to 3p. 8 hour day plus weeknight beeper call

Completion Bonus. A completion bonus is offered to providers who complete the full assignment schedule as outlined above.

Work Details

• Support staff includes a supervising surgeon.
• Coverage needed is 4 days per month, 7a to 3p, plus call from 3p to 7a.
  
• Patient population is adult and geriatric.
• Department is CT Surgery.
  
• Hospital is a 199 bed facility.
• Special procedures include temporary pacemaker removal, chest tube removal, IABP removal, and Aline placement.
• Recent cardiothoracic surgery experience and proficiency with EVH are required.

Requirements

• PA board certification or Master's Degree in Nursing.
• Active AZ license required.
• DEA required.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in cardiothoracic surgery with EVH.

For PAs

• Graduate of a university program approved by NCCPA. Required.
• Certified or certification eligible by NCCPA. Required.
• Licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Physician Assistant in the State of Arizona. Required.
• ACLS and BLS through the American Heart Association. Required.

For NPs

• Graduate of an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Program. Required.
• Completion of an RN/NP First Assistant Program. Required.
• Current unrestricted Arizona APRN license. Required.
• Medical Surgical or NP certification through ANCC or AANP. Required.
• ACLS and BLS through the American Heart Association. Required.
