An exciting locum tenens opportunity for a Nurse Practitioner (Surgery) is now available in Potsdam, New York, offering a dynamic blend of Operating Room first assist and surgical floor coverage. This role is ideal for experienced providers with robotics expertise who are comfortable working across multiple specialties in a collaborative hospital environment.

With a steady weekday schedule and optional call for additional earning potential, this assignment offers both clinical variety and financial reward.

📍 Position Overview:

• Location: Potsdam, NY
• Start Date: July 20, 2026 (Full-time coverage needed from September)
• Assignment Length: 26 weeks with possible extension
• Schedule: Tuesday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM (4x10s)
• Setting: Acute Care Hospital
• EMR: Epic
• Coverage Type: Scheduled + optional call

⚕️ Clinical Responsibilities:

• Function as Surgical First Assist in the OR (robotics experience required)
• Provide medical-surgical floor coverage, including:
  • Rounding and progress notes
  • Managing orders, consults, and discharges
• Work across General Surgery, OB/GYN, and Orthopedic cases
• Perform key intraoperative tasks such as:
  • Suturing, wound closure, and hemostasis
  • Assisting with suction, drainage, and tissue management
  • Patient positioning and intraoperative support

📊 Practice Details:

• Facility Size: 109 beds
• Patient Population: Adult, acutely ill
• Patient Ratios: ~1:10–15
• Support Team: Physicians, Anesthesia, NP, LPN
• Technology: Epic EMR, Pyxis medication system

📞 Call Opportunities (Optional):

• Weekend Call: 1–2 weekends/month (Fri 5 PM – Mon 7 AM) + rounding (Sat–Sun 8 AM – 12 PM)
• Weeknight Call: Up to 4 shifts/month (5 PM – 7 AM)

✅ Requirements:

• Robotics experience – REQUIRED
• Active New York license
• AHA BLS, ACLS, and ATLS certifications
• Minimum 2 years of recent surgical experience
• Strong experience in both OR and inpatient surgical care
