St. Luke's Health System is currently seeking an Advance Practice Provider (Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner) to join our collegial and multi-disciplinary Acute Care Surgery team. The Advanced Practice Provider is responsible for providing quality health care in the inpatient and outpatient settings under the supervision of a designated physician at the Boise, Meridian, and Nampa hospitals. This team prides itself on expert evaluation, management and surgical care with high-quality outcomes, and open-line of communication with our referring physician colleagues and departments. We specialize in a variety of surgical procedures: open abdominal surgery, laparoscopic/robotic (spleen, gall bladder, colon, and appendix) surgery, appendectomy, gall bladder surgery, small bowel obstruction surgery, cancer surgery, hernia surgery, splenectomy, and melanoma surgery. The APP hired for this position would assist in surgery, round with physicians on admitted patients, help to discharge patients, and occasionally work in the clinic. This full-time opportunity includes working day time hours Monday - Friday with one weekend of call per month at any of our Treasure Valley Hospitals. JOB REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE:Graduation from an accredited school with a minimum of a Master’s Degree and certification, as required by the specialty, as well as eligibility to obtain licensure from Idaho to practice as a Physician Assistant.Must obtain and maintain unrestricted prescriptive authority, DEA, and controlled substance licenses.Excellent communication skills to include oral and written comprehension/expression.Ability to manage a fast-paced, busy clinical environment related to changing patient needs, including work with patients with acute, chronic, and complex disease processes.Ability and willingness to exhibit behaviors consistent with standards for performance improvement and organizational values (e.g., efficiency & financial responsibility, safety, partnership & service, teamwork, compassion, integrity, and trust & respect).
