Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner Locum Opportunity – Missouri

We are seeking a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner for a locum opportunity in Missouri, starting as soon as possible. This is primarily an inpatient Psychiatry position with a consistent weekday schedule, no call, and a strong behavioral health team.

Assignment Details

• Start Date: ASAP / October 5, 2026
• Nurse Practitioners only
• Primarily inpatient Psychiatry

Schedule

• Monday–Friday
• 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
• One rotating weekend per month
• No call
• No telehealth

Practice Setting

• Primarily inpatient Psychiatry
• Small outpatient department with occasional coverage as needed
• WellSky EMR
• No trauma designation

Patient Volume

• Approximately 20–25 patients per day
• New and established behavioral health patients
• Patient population may begin around age 12
• Majority of patients approximately ages 17–68

Clinical Responsibilities

• Inpatient psychiatric rounding
• Evaluate and manage new and established behavioral health patients
• Psychiatric medication management
• Management of medications administered in the inpatient setting
• Documentation in WellSky
• Some outpatient responsibilities may be included as needed

Support Staff

• 1.5 Psychiatrists
• 4 full-time Nurse Practitioners
• Approximately 6 providers working during weekdays
• Weekend coverage includes the locum plus approximately one additional provider

Requirements

• Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner
• BLS required
• CPR required
• Board Certification / Board Eligibility not required per source
• Suboxone certification not required
• Relevant experience may be accepted in place of fellowship training
• Prior locum/travel experience not required
• Missouri license requirement was not specified

Ideal Candidate

An experienced Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner who is comfortable managing approximately 20–25 behavioral health patients per day in a primarily inpatient setting.
