A medical services network in New York City is seeking a licensed Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to join their outpatient health center in the Bronx.
About the Opportunity:
- Schedule: Monday to Friday
- Hours: 37.5 clinical hours per week
- Setting: Outpatient
Responsibilities:
- Evaluate patients referred for psychiatric assessment, including interviews, diagnoses, and treatment planning
- Provide medication management and prescribe psychotropic medications as appropriate
- Collaborate with physicians, psychiatrists, LCSWs, and other care team members on patient care
- Participate in case conferences, high-risk meetings, and integrated behavioral health efforts
- Document clinical care, monitor quality of care, and support transitions of care with external providers
Qualifications:
- Master's degree
- Active Nurse Practitioner license in Psychiatry
- CPR/BLS certification
- Knowledge of diagnostic and treatment procedures used in health care centers
- Ability to deliver patient care, including preventive health education
- Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary health center teams
Desired Skills:
- Experience with psychiatric medication management and behavioral health integration
- Familiarity with electronic clinical documentation and telephone encounters
- Experience supporting patients with substance use disorders
