Job description

An established outpatient behavioral health practice in Westminster, Maryland, is seeking a full-time Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner to join its clinical team.

This permanent, onsite opportunity offers annual compensation of $110,000–$140,000 and the ability to provide comprehensive psychiatric care within a collaborative, patient-centered environment.

The PMHNP will conduct psychiatric evaluations, establish behavioral health diagnoses, develop individualized treatment plans, and provide ongoing medication management for adolescent and adult patients. The provider will work closely with therapists, primary care professionals, and other members of the clinical team to ensure coordinated and effective care.

This role is ideal for a PMHNP seeking a stable full-time position, a diverse outpatient caseload, and the opportunity to build long-term relationships with patients and families.

Job Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and diagnostic assessments. Develop individualized treatment plans based on each patient’s clinical needs. Provide ongoing medication management and psychopharmacology services. Treat adolescents and adults experiencing anxiety, depression, ADHD, bipolar disorder, trauma-related conditions, sleep disorders, substance-use concerns, and other psychiatric conditions. Monitor patient progress, treatment response, medication effectiveness, and potential side effects. Conduct suicide-risk and safety assessments when clinically indicated. Provide patient and family education regarding diagnoses, medications, treatment options, and symptom management. Provide brief supportive interventions when appropriate. Coordinate care with therapists, primary care providers, and other healthcare professionals. Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation. Participate in treatment-team discussions and contribute to a collaborative outpatient practice.

Qualifications

Master’s or doctoral degree in nursing from an accredited Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner program. Current PMHNP-BC certification. Active and unrestricted Maryland APRN license with prescriptive authority. Active DEA registration and Maryland controlled-dangerous-substance registration. Strong psychiatric assessment, diagnostic, treatment-planning, and psychopharmacology skills. Previous outpatient behavioral health and independent medication-management experience is preferred. Experience treating adolescents and adults is strongly preferred. Ability to work onsite and collaborate effectively with therapists, physicians, and other behavioral health professionals.

Working Hours

Full-time, permanent, onsite position in Westminster, Maryland. The anticipated schedule is Monday through Friday during standard outpatient clinic hours. Exact daily start and end times, patient scheduling expectations, administrative time, and any evening availability will be discussed during the interview. This is not a fully remote position.
